Do you need to record a PowerPoint presentation or your iPad screen?

Using PowerPoint for iPad, it is possible to make a recording of your slide show. You can include
voiceover/narration, and point to and draw things on the screen. Follow these quick and easy steps to learn
how to screen record (screen capture) from your iPad.

Before You Record

Before you start recording read through these tips and suggestions.

  1. Set your iPad screen to be in landscape mode. This ensures that your presentation slides will take up the full screen.
  2. For voiceover/narration, consider using an external microphone.
    • The microphone on iPads are very sensitive and will pick up all sounds. Record in a quiet location such as the Media Studio at the McGovern Library.
  3. Everything that appears on your screen will be recorded, including notifications.
    • Enable Do Not Disturb on your device to prevent unexpected notifications.
  4. Consider dividing your slide show into topics that are not longer than 10 minutes or so.
    • You can group recordings together later for longer recordings.
