How to Write A Blog Post For Beginners

How to Write a Blog Post From Start to Finish

6 Tips for Blogging

Chunk Your Content

Make your blog more scannable by breaking your content into more manageable sections. Aim for paragraphs being more more that 5-7 sentences, and add in bolded section headers to help break the content up.

Use Bullet Points & Numbered Lists

If possible, organize your information into lists. Bulleted points makes your content more easily consumed and provides the reader with a few solid takeaways.

Use Plain Language

Keep your writing simple, clear, and to the point. And remember that by writing in a casual tone will help you both sound like yourself and draw your audience in.

Front Load Your Information

Place the important information at the beginning of your post. Additional details can be provided later within the post. Also, you can highlight important information by placing the information within section headers.

Use Descriptive Links

Avoid directing readers to outside links by using phrases such as "Click Here". Instead, hyperlink the words that describe the link and what can be found within the outside source.

Use Images

Images add interest within a post and help to break up the text. Pictures make posts look more visually appealing and can help readers work through blocks of text.
